How we work differently

Capped client list

We take on a limited number of active instructions at any one time. When that number is full, we close the list. It keeps the work honest.

Off-market access

A significant share of the properties we handle never appear on the portals. They move through our network of long-standing contacts, quietly and without fuss.

Buyer representation

We act exclusively for buyers on retained search instructions. That means our advice is not coloured by a vendor's fee.

A bit more

Today Willow Field Gate operates with a team of three. Harriet handles all valuations and buyer searches personally. Tom Ashby manages viewings and coordinates with solicitors. Priya Nair looks after photography, floor plans, and the written descriptions that go out under the Willow Field Gate name. The office is small by design. The client list is capped at eighteen active instructions. When that number is reached, new enquiries go on a waiting list, and we are honest about that from the first conversation.

We stopped adding to the list and started acting on it.

Harriet Calloway

Harriet Calloway

Founder, Established since 2014

Harriet Calloway spent eight years at Barratt & Lowe's Shrewsbury office before founding Willow Field Gate in October 2014. During her time there she handled over 140 residential transactions, with a particular focus on rural and semi-rural properties in the Welsh Marches. The decision to go independent came after a run of instructions where she felt the volume model was working against her clients. Outside the office she keeps a kitchen garden, reads more architectural history than is probably useful, and walks the Long Mynd most Sunday mornings.
